Artist Statement
Overlooked and hidden spaces are intriguing to me, especially spaces
missed in passing if one does not stop to observe. I look for
neglected settings where man and nature converge and extract remnants
of what has been left behind. Using natural light, I refract fragments
of these settings, simultaneously manipulating shapes and colors to
imbue painterly characteristics. New prismatic compositions and
meanings are captured digitally and printed unaltered as detachments
from their original environment. A special emphasis is placed on
elements related to personal themes, such as memory, perception, and
transcendence. While my focus lies in composition and narrative, I aim
for imagery that is open to interpretation. The result is an
individual translation of reality, where each piece is autonomous, yet
relationships can be determined.
